Kuyten Housing Support is a small company that works with English and Japanese speaking customers.
We are made up with the support of a group of independent contractors all specializing in their trades.
We are all hands on and do not subcontract out our work to people we do not know and trust.
This keeps the quality of our work high and allows us to take on jobs that other companies may back away from or charge very high prices for.
We pride ourselves for being able to take on jobs that many others may back away from.

    There are many ways we can help you with your projects. Of course, we can come in and take over your projects from start to finish.
    Another way we often can help is to come in as an intermediary to make sure that the contractors and the customers are on the same page. It is very important for the customer to understand the contractor’s intent and reason for doing things. It is equally important that the contractor understands the customers needs and thoughts on how they would like to proceed. This can often be lost in translation. Having many years’ experience on both English and Japanese speaking sites we can help with this processes. We find that cultural differences and the language barrier is often the biggest cause for trouble on job sites.

    We can take spaces down to bare walls, floors and ceilings and create custom spaces that meet our customers needs. We often do this for customers that have bought real estate in Japan and would like to turn this space in to their own living quarters. Bigger kitchens, open living spaces and new baths and bedrooms. This can also be done with rental units to give them more appeal to renters.
    Another area we work in is what is referred to as reform work here in Japan. Most often this work done on rental units after the renter has moved out. It is done to get the place cleaned up and ready to rent again. New wallpaper, any small fixes, replacing old tatami and a good cleaning is standard. Other work may include converting tatami rooms to hardwood floors to give it a more modern feel.
    We can come in and take a look at these units and provide a quotation for the work we feel would be needed in order to get the place ready to rent. Many times, we find that everything may not need to be replaced every time. We discus this with our customers and will do just the work needed. Keeping an open line of communication with our customers is very important to us.

    Renter move outs

    We can help apartment owners by being available on the day of the move out to assist the realtors. This is a two-step process.
    First to determine if the deposit is to be returned or if the renter will be charged upon move out based on the rental contract.
    Second is to determine what work should be done.
    Many times a full remodel may not be necessary. Many factors come into play such as rent and location. We are available to assist with this process.
